Welcome to my webpage!

I am a quantitative sociologist with interests in analytical sociology, economic sociology, social inequality research, social network analysis, computational social science, organizational theory, and diffusion processes. My research largely focuses on how social structures affect outcomes in economic and social life. My work appears in journals such as American Sociological Review, European Sociological Review, European Political Science Review, Sociology, Research Policy, or International Sociology.

Before joining the Institute of Sociology at Wuppertal University in 2017, I was head of a Max Planck Research Group on the sociology of diffusion at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in Cologne. I studied sociology, psychology, and statistics at Duisburg-Essen University, and was a doctoral student at the International Max Planck Research School on the Social and Political Constitution of the Economy in Cologne. I received my Doctorate from University of Duisburg-Essen, my Habilitation from University of Cologne, and have held visiting fellowships at Harvard University, Science-Po Paris, Utrecht University, and ETH Zurich.
